Visual Arts Program

Since 2005 UMI Arts has developed a number of ongoing programs to assist in preserving and strengthening Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and cultural practices.

By connecting a network of over 200 member artists across Far North Queensland, UMI Arts helps ensure artists are supported, promoted and empowered.

Our visual arts program includes free training and skills workshops, with mentorship given by established local artists; regular members exhibitions and external artist opportunities; promotion of our member artists at local and interstate art fairs; and a range of other assistance and support, to help our member artists develop their arts practice, in order to preserve and maintain culture.
